Privacy Policy
Short version: the site is static, we set no cookies, and we strip personal addresses out of the public records we republish.
What we collect from visitors
Nothing that identifies you. ThePlumber.work is a static site: there are no accounts, no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts. The licence checker runs entirely in your browser against static files - the number you type is never sent to us.
Our host processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve the site and defend against abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
Fonts and assets
Fonts, styles and images are served from this domain. Nothing on a page causes your browser to contact a third party.
Public licensing records
Listings are republished from licensing rosters that state boards publish for public download. These records concern licensed businesses and the individuals responsible for them.
We deliberately reduce what we republish:
- We drop street addresses. Rosters include a mailing address, which for a sole trader is usually their home. It does not help anyone verify a licence, so it never reaches this site.
- We publish licence number, status, expiration, insurance status, licensee name, city and county - the fields needed to check that a licence is real and current, and the same ones the state shows on its own public lookup.
- We publish a business phone number where the roster carries one.
If you are a licensee
Your listing mirrors your record with the licensing board. Corrections made with the board flow through on our next daily import. To raise a concern about what we publish about you, see contact.
Children
This site is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be reflected here. Because the site is version-controlled, the change history is a matter of record.
